Ragsdale rallies over High Point Central on Tuesday night

It was a wild one at High Point Central Tuesday night as Ragsdale visited the Bison.
Ragsdale fell behind 5 – 1 after two innings, but then rallied for 4 in the top of
the fourth.The big hit in the inning was an opposite field double by Walt Sparks
that drove in 2 runs. An error by the Bison left fielder let two other runs score
as Ragsdale took a 6 – 5 lead.

Central tied it up in the bottom of the fourth as Houston Ison got a solid single to
left that then got by the Tiger leftfielder. By the time the ball was relayed back
in, Ison had rounded the bases to tie up the score 6 – 6.

Ragsdale took the lead for good in the top of the fifth. DeSean Anderson singled
and stole second. He scored on a triple down the right field line off the bat of
Ben Fultz. Fultz scored on a Walt Sparks sacrifice fly to make the score 8 – 6.
The third run of the inning scored on as Billy Stone walked, stole second, went to
third on a wild pitch and scored as the Bison pitcher threw the ball away on a
pickoff attempt.

With the 9 – 6 lead, Ragsdale got 4 more in the 7th inning as Anderson, Fultz, Mike
Whited and Kyle Morrison all had base hits. Stone drove in a run on a ground out
and Whited and Morrison both picked up an RBI with their hits. Ben Fultz scored the
other run as he stole home.

Stone went three innings on the mound for the Tigers. Tyler Southcott picked up the
win going two innings and Zach Hodges and DeSean Anderson both pitched one inning of
relief. Anderson struck out 4 batters in his one inning of work.

Ben Fultz went 4 for 5 with 3 runs scored and an RBI. Walt Sparks was 2 for 3, with
3 RBI’s and 3 runs scored. Anderson was 3 for 5 with 4 runs scored and Kyle
Morrison had two hits in his 5 at bats with an RBI.

Houston Ison had two hits for the Bison. Weston Wilson drove in 3 runs. Alex
Bridges pitched 4 1/3 innings giving up 8 runs and suffering the loss. Ison pitched
the final 2 2/3.

Ragsdale improves to 6 – 0 in the Piedmont Triad but now gets ready for a tough
stretch. After hosting Randleman in a non-conference game tomorrow, Ragsdale goes
on the road Friday to face SW Guilford. They then go to East Forsyth Monday
followed by home games against NW Guilford on Tuesday and Glenn on Wednesday.
Central falls to 0 – 7 in the Piedmont Triad.
