Notes on SEG at Dudley…

Just a few notes on tonight’s game, a few game notes if you will…

5-0 SEG when game resumed in the top of the second inning….Tevin Neal on the hill for Dudley with two base runners and one out….SEG goes to work and scores three in that second inning and the Falcons lead 8-0, after an inning and a-half…

Dudley with Ty Powell on the mound allows a solo home run to Brandon Burkes in the bottom of the second and then Alex Moore connects for a two-run homer with Corey Wiliamson on base to pull Dudley within five at 8-3 SEG, after two innings….

Both Ty Powell and Tevin Neal were pitching when this game was halted on a Friday night back in March and both Powell and Neal ended up going the distance tonight as did home plate umpire John Mann and not sure about the base umpire if he was with us back when this game got under way…

Southeast Guilford got a solo home run from left fielder Evan “Tiger” Miller, in the top of the third, that made the score SEG 9 and Dudley 3, after three innings….Dudley did not scratch in the bottom of the third…..

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Brandon Burkes hit his second solo home run of the evening to make it 9-4 SEG, as the Falcons failed to score in the top of that inning….End of 4, 9-4, SEG….

Tiger Miller drove in Josh Tobias with a single to make it 10-4 SEG, in the top of the fifth….Tanner Hodgin’s RBI single plated Miller and that made the score, 11-4 SEG, at the end of four and a-half innings…..

At the end of five it was still 11-4 SEG and the story was the same at the end of six innings….Dudley pushed across one run in the bottom of the seventh inning on a ball hit to left field by Corey Kimber and that is how we closed it out, SEG 11, Dudley 5….

Adam Kirkpatrick had a couple of singles for SEG and Josh Tobias ran his stolen base total to 21 on the season as both of these young men remained hot for SEG….Tiger Miller had a couple of hits, including his HR and Ty Powell going the distance for SEG was a real plus….

Brandon Burkes was huge for Dudley with those two mammoth home runs and Alex Moore picked up his team with his two-run blast….Ray Crawford had a double for the Panthers and Tevin Neal began the game down 5-0 and after the second he only gave up three more Falcon runs in the 11-5 final….

A very big game all the way around and the same two teams will meet again next Tuesday night at 7pm at Southeast Guilford…..
