Anderson and Tigers pick up big win at Glenn on Tuesday

Ragsdale travelled to Glenn and ended a four game losing streak with a 9 – 7 win on
Tuesday night. With the win, Ragsdale improves to 7 – 4 in the Piedmont Triad
Conference and into a tie for third place with Glenn who falls to 7 – 4. Both teams
have one Conference game remaining as Ragsdale will host High Point Central on
Friday while Glenn will be at home to take on first place East Forsyth (8 – 2).
East Forsyth defeated Northwest Guilford on Tuesday by 6 – 4 to maintain their hold
on first place. Southwest Guilford occupies second place with an 8 – 3 record
after defeating HPC last night 12 – 1.

Leading hitters for the Tigers were: DeSean Anderson was 2 for 5 with a double, 2
runs scored and an RBI. Billy Stone went 2 for 3 with a fly ball triple that the
right fielder lost in the lights, 2 runs. Mitch Carstens went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI’s.
Walt Sparks went 1 for 4 with 2 runs scored and an RBI double in the first inning.
Kyle Morrison was 1 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI.

Glenn was led by Parks Jorday who was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and an RBI. Colby Sato
was 2 for 3 with a double an RBI. Luke Manuel was 1 for 3 with a 2 RBI double.

DeSean Anderson got the win for Ragsdale as he pitched four plus innings giving up 6
hits and 5 runs while striking out 6. Tyler Southcott came on in relief in the
bottom of the fifth with the Tigers leading 7 – 5 and runners on second and third
and no outs. Southcott got out of the inning, getting a comebacker to the mound, a
strike out and getting excellent defense from Grant Desjardins in left field who
made a diving catch on a line drive for the final out of the inning. Southcott went
on to record the save, pitching three innings and giving up 2 hits and 2 runs, only
one of which was earned while striking out 3.

Noah Pearl got the start for the Bobcats and took the loss, pitching 5 innings and
giving up 7 runs and 6 hits. Seth Motsinger pitched a third of an inning in relief,
giving up 2 runs (1 earned) and Justin Hunt pitched the final 1 2/3 of shutout ball.
