Joseph McManus from High Point Christian Cougar to Guilford College Quaker

Joseph McManus, one the seniors at High Point Christian Academy, committed to play basketball at Guilford College yesterday(Thursday). Joseph averaged 11 points and 7 rebounds a game as well as being a tremendous team defender. He was the team MVP and the glue that held HPCA together during thei run to the NCISAA 2-A Final Four. He was Honorable Mention All-Guilford this past season as well.

Joseph is an extremely hard worker that will fit well within Guilford’s basketball
culture. He will represent himself, his family, and High Point Christian
Academy at a very high level and everyone is extremely proud of him. The Quakers are
getting an outstanding young man and basketball player.

Congratulations and good job Joseph McManus……

The Quakers have now picked up McManus from HPCA, Saegan Hilliard from Asheboro High School and the kid from the Hebrew Academy for 2010/2011 and a fine job of recruiting, by coach Tom Palumbo and staff, after reaching the DIII Final Four in back-to-back seasons…..

  1. there isnt a more deserving person and player. Guilford is getting a great one. Best of luck to Him.

  2. In addition to Joseph McManus (HPCA), Omer Atishkin (AHA) and Saegan Hilliard (Asheboro), I’ve also seen published reports of Ryan Phillips (Yellow Springs, OH) and Jon Lineberry (an academy in Lee Co., NC – sorry I don’t remember the name).

Also, BTW, Coach Palombo’s name is spelled with two “o’s” and no “u.” It’s a common mistake and quite understandable.

Good luck to all these guys at Guilford!
