Several favorites fall in Round One of the Mid-State 3-A Conference Tournament

One of our readers tipped us off to this and I went over to the Burlington Times News site at www.thetimesnews.com and collected this info, where it looks like #1 Western Alamance is gone, #3 Rockingham County got knocked out early and McMichael was playing on the road at Eastern Alamance and the EA Eagles got tripped up too…

It looks like among the top four seeds, that Northern Guilford was the only team to survive on Tuesday….

At Wentworth, Jarryd Blaetz went 2-for-3 with two RBI and visiting Williams High School defeated Rockingham County 7-4 in the first round of the Mid-State 3-A Conference Tournament.

Russ Bray went 2-for-4 for the Bulldogs (11-12), who play tonight at Northern Guilford in the semifinals.

EDEN MOREHEAD 8, WESTERN ALAMANCE 7: At Elon, Daniel Kennedy went 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored, but top-seeded Western Alamance fell to eighth-seeded Eden Morehead in the opening round of the Mid-State 3-A Conference tournament.

McMICHAEL 5, EASTERN ALAMANCE 4: At Mebane, visiting Mc-Michael grabbed an early lead and held off a late Eastern Alamance rally in the first round of the Mid-State 3-A ConferenceTournament.
