There is no loss on HS Lacrosse, and Who’s the Boss??? Looks like NWG is solid Gold and Grimsley is in it till the end…

Grimsley(11-4) at Northwest Guilford(16-0) on Friday night…..

Congrats to our boys teams that are still in the playoffs and it looks like Northwest Guilford has been solid, with solid Goldsmith, as in Jay and dad Mark, creating the spark at NWG, just like they did down at Southeast Guilford…

I can still remember when Mark brought the sport to our area, and when he was the Men’s Lacrosse coach at Guilford College…When he moved on to SEG, he hooked up with the VanHoover brothers and others, to have loads of success and now Mark’s son Jay might just be the top player in the state and he was always a very steady soccer goalie too….

On Grimsley’s list of players I see Mark Nadler who was a red-hot outside shooter in basketball and he is probably doing the same in Lacrosse….Will Grimsley and NWG be meeting any time soon in the playoffs and who is the favorite….Both teams have played very well here early and by all early indications, this was supposed to be a re-building year for Coach Goldsmith and NWG….I see where Page has the Brett Barnard kid and that has to be the brother of Erik Barnard who was at Page with football/lacrosse last year….

Six goals and 1 assist by Jay Goldsmith on Tuesday and the DePopas kid from Grimsley has got something working too, with 4 goals and 2 assists in the match with Ardrey Kell on Tuesday….

Go Whirlies and Go Vikings and all of our other teams that are still in the HS playoff hunt and for my money, Coach Mark Goldsmith is one of the top coaches in the history of this sport in our state and he’s a pretty decent basketball official too….

If any of you, our readers, get more info on the Lacrosse playoffs please send it our way and we will more than happy to print the Lacrosse News…We are not X-LAX people here….If any of our correspondents are ready some us some info to andy@greensborosports.com…..

  1. Good Luck to both teams! Hopefully one can bring the title back to the Boro!

  2. NWG and GHS play Friday night at NWG.

Nadler plays defense at GHS so no outside shooting.
