Boys:
Myers Park 12
Grimsley 6

Grimsley goals from Kevin Depopas(2), Hunter Huffman(2), and Aaron Jones…We haven’t been able to detect who scored the first Grimsley goal, after reading two different accounts of the game, but Grimsley got down early, trailing 5-1, before rallying to make the score 5-3, and then Myers Park tacked on two more goals to make it 7-3, MP, at the half……Grimsley cut the lead to 7-6 and then MP went wild scoring 5 unanswered goals to win the contest 12-6….
Grimsley finishes at (13-5) and Myers Park advances to the state title game at (18-1)….

Girls:
Charlotte Catholic 16
Western Guilford 7

An outstanding season by the Western Guilford girls to finish at (16-1) and they were led in Tuesday’s game by Sydney Crutchfield with 2 goals, plus two goals each came from the Hornet attackers Katie Dickerson and Brittany Buxton and Akasha Kasper scored once for Western…..In goal 16 saves were recorded by WG’s Nora Awartani….A super season by the Hornets and LAX experts expect them to right back in the title hunt again next season……

*****We hope to have more on both of these events later on today….*****
