Red-head going green, Tulane Green Wave that is….

New Tulane men’s basketball coach Ed Conroy got another recruit to sign on the dotted line.

Jonathan Frye, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Greensboro, N.C., is the third player in Conroy’s first recruiting class, joining guard Kevin Brown Houston and forward Kevin Thomas of Waco, Texas. He averaged 22 points last season.

from Tom Keller at today’s N&R and as we stated earlier, good luck to this kid cause he has talent and he is a very bright young man and we wish him the best at Tulane, where you will also find Lisa Stockton as the women’s basketball coach and Lisa’s a Western Guilford and Wake Forest grad and she is the former womens basketball coach at Greensboro College…..Again, Tulane University is getting a good one, when the red-head from Northern Guilford, Jonathan Frye, takes the court….

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University head women’s basketball coach Lisa Stockton was named Louisiana Coach of the Year while Chassity Brown, Danielle Nunn and Tiffany Aidoo claimed first-team, third-team and honorable-mention all-state recognition, respectively, the Louisiana Sports Writers Association announced over the weekend.

Stockton, who was named Conference USA Coach of the Year back in March, claimed the second LSWA Coach of the Year honor of her career after garnering the honor during her first year at the helm of the Green Wave program in 1995. Brown, Nunn and Aidoo, meanwhile, earned the first all-state honors of their careers.*****
