Congrats to VCS and Vandalia’s Luke Oates and among his men on the Viking Championship baseball squad are Jon Bethea, AJ Williams, Nick Taylor, Dusty Long and if others want to chime in or weigh in, hit the comment box below….

Good job by Vandalia and I think this might be the school’s first Baseball Title under Coach Luke Oates and the first one for VCS since Harley Miller was the skipper there back about 10 years ago…

Again, GOOD JOB VIKINGS and Congrats on the Title…..

  1. A.J. Williams pitched 5 more scoreless innings and did not allow a run the entire state tournament . Vandallia was led offensively by Nick Taylor and Johnathan Bethea, who had 3 hits each. and by Michael Matthews who had a team high 3 RBIs. Nick Taylor and Jonathan Bethea were named to the All-state team, Tyler Haley, A.J. Williams, and Caleb Stevens were named to the All-region team. Vandallia finished the year 17-5 and won its first state championship since 1998.

  2. Congratulations to VC on a great season. Nick Taylor, Micheal Matthews, Johnathan Bethea, Tyler Hayley and Steven Conger all grew up playing at Pleasant Garden. They were good back then also.
