Coach Allen Plaster of East Forsyth said that Evan Orenstein’s home run was a key moment. It was Orenstein’s third home run in the past two games — he hit two against North Davidson last Friday — and was his seventh of the season.

“Coming in, they have some kids who can hit on their team, they are no slouches,” Plaster said. “But to go up four, then you can give up one run maybe two and you may not be comfortable but you are still in the driver’s seat a little bit. That was big and I think also it deflated (Glenn’s) sails a little bit, too.”

Plaster said he was determined to start the semifinal series against TC Roberson on Thursday night.
