Northwood 2
Southeast Guilford 1

5 innings, rain shortened game…..

For SEG, Austin Bain had a triple and Justin Reece a double to pace the bats while Taylor Callahan drove in the only Falcon run with a SAC fly to left…..Will Greene drew a walk for SEG and Dallas Newton, along with Austin Wallace handled the Falcon pitching…..

The rain was one of the main stories of last night’s game and I will have to come back in here one day next week and tell that story in detail…..I got caught in a long rain-delay under a tent and the rain just kept on coming and there was no chance to make it to the car and protect the radio equipment at the same time. The tent started folding with the weight of the rain on it and I was being sucked up by the tent in the rain and with the wind and the lightning, this was becoming a very interesting situation…You might call this one, “Trapped Under the Tent”…….

Fortunately, Scott Reece had an umbrella and I was able to bail out from underneath the tent, and head on to the car after about 45 minutes, but for a while this had the makings of a long rainy weekend……

More on the story next week of being trapped under the tent and not being able to bail, but the Southeast Junior Legion baseball team is set to be in action again today at Southern Alamance…..
