Threat of rain and TC Roberson says they want to wait until Tuesday night to drive down here: East Forsyth-TC Roberson postponed

TC Roberson at East Forsyth postponed for tonight with the threat of rain in the area and TC Roberson didn’t want to make the trip down here from up in Asheville if there was a chance the game might get rained out….

How serious are they about this series????? I would drive a 1,000 miles and then back again the next day for chance to win a title…..Or something like that, and you know what I mean….In the day if you had a game scheduled then you showed up no matter what….

It sounds like TC Roberson wants to make East Forsyth play a waiting game before they get a chance to play a baseball game and now for those of us that had made plans to go over for the game tonight, those plans are out the door….TC Roberson didn’t want to play game one on Thursday and it was moved to Friday and now they don’t want to play on Monday, so they get to play on Tuesday and rest their star pitcher a little longer……

Thanks to Brian Hall at WFMY NEWS 2 Sports for the tip and the link on the postponement….

Here’s the article from the Asheville Citizne Times and the link for where it came from and thsi stinks for those of us who had a one-night window to see this game and that window has been closed and we are out….CLICK HERE….

Tonight’s third and deciding game of the 4-A Western Regional championship series has been postponed.

East Forsyth (22-8) and Roberson (21-6) will now try to play baseball Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Kernersville, with the winner advancing to Friday’s state championship series in Raleigh.

The Rams expressed concern over traveling down to Kernersville tonight due to rain in the forecast for the Piedmont Triad area. There is a 60 percent chance for rain in Tuesday’s forecast, too.

The postponement helps Roberson in regards to pitching options – Rams coach Donnie Suttles said that sophomore Dillon O’Kelley (6-0) will now be a potential starter after throwing Saturday’s 8-3 victory in Game 1.

The 10th grader has four wins in the NCHSAA 4-A playoffs. O’Kelley threw on short rest in both the second and third round.

  1. Looks like TC Roberson lucked out on this one as the rains came, but they come again on Tuesday???????

  2. BEST OF LUCK TO EAST FORSYTH. GOOD JOB REPRESENTING THE CONFERENCE AND THE AREA.

    HIGH POINT CENTRAL BISON

  3. Just after 6pm and it is not raining a drop right now and it hasn’t rained at all since around 2-2:30pm….

Sure wished they would have played the game tonight….

Holywood Mike Henderson from Carolina Cat would have pitched to help get the field ready anf from 2-6 they should have had enough time….

This would have been a great Memorial Day win for East Forsyth.

Good luck to the EF Eagles on Tuesday night and you have to think that Roberson will be bringing that kid with the (6-0) record now that he has had the extra day’s rest…..

  4. If they were playing at SE Guilford I dont think they could have their field ready, it took SE 4 days to play after a little shower.

  5. Hey bbfan do they call 3 inches of rain a little shower where you live? Where do you live…Seattle? We played Jr Legion tonight at SE by the way. We beat the Hitoms 5-4.
