The Greensboro Grasshoppers go (4-4) on the road trip and come back to town to begin four-game series tonight with the Delmarva Shorebirds.

Hoppers pitcher Bryan Evans has been called up to Jupiter and he has even gone as high as Double A Jacksonville and the Hoppers got Anillis Martinez back from the DL after Evans exited….

OF Tom Hickman has also been called up to Jupiter to help the Hammerheads in the outfield, as Jupiter outfielder Kevin Mattison, from Kernersville and East Forsyth High School, got called up to the Triple A New Orleans Zephyrs….

Former Greensboro Grasshoppers starting pitcher Cristian Martinez, is now with Atlanta and working out of the Braves bullpen….

Former Greensboro Bats outfielder Chris Resop, who was converted to a pitcher by the Marlins, is now with the Atlanta Braves organization. Resop was working as a reliever when he was in the Marlins’ system and now the Braves have him in the starting rotation and he is currently (4-1) for the Triple A Gwinnett County Braves….

Former Greensboro Grasshoppers Jay Buente and Taylor Tankersley have both been called up to the Marlins staff from the minors with both men having worked out of New Orleans this season….The first man Buente faced working out of the bullpen last Thursday was the Atlanta Braves Chipper Jones….

Just a few updates from within the system and there will be more…… (The Mike Stanton call-up date to the majors is still set for early June….)
