Stanton, 20, leads Southern League in RBIs (50), total bases (127), slugging percentage (.722) and OPS (1.158). He’s batting .307, with 20 HR’s….
It won’t be long before Mike Stanton is ready to move up to the MLB level, with the Florida Marlins, and he has his motor moving after last night’s two-homer night, for the Double A Jacksonville Suns and it looks like Stanton is set to shine brightly, when he gets called up later on this month, by the big-league club……

Mike Stanton is living up to his reputation as the future of the Marlins’ franchise.
MLB.com’s No. 3 prospect increased his Minor League-leading home run total to 20 on Tuesday by mashing a pair of solo shots in a 5-4 victory over the Carolina Mudcats in the Double-A Southern League.
Stanton whacked a homer off Carolina starter Alexander Smit in the bottom of the first inning and again in the fifth, both times with two outs. The latter — a towering drive to left which he hit out of the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville and onto Duval Street — turned out to be the difference in the game.
His offensive fireworks were in support of Suns starter Tom Koehler(former Greensboro Grasshopper), who improved to 6-0 with the victory.
Stanton, a right-handed batter, was the Marlins’ second-round Draft pick in 2007. He batted .161 in his first professional season that year, including a nine-game stint in the New York-Penn League in which he was 2-for-30.
He hit his stride in 2008, when he hit .293 with 39 home runs and 97 RBIs for Greensboro of the South Atlantic League. The 39 homers were second in the Minors, and Stanton was named MLB.com’s Class A Offensive Player of the Year.
In 2009, he was bumped to Class A Advanced Jupiter in the Florida State League, where he batted .294 with 12 longballs in 50 games before he was promoted to Jacksonville, where he hit .231 with 16 dingers in 79 games. He was a Futures Game selection in 2009.
