One of Nick Faldo’s peoples to play golf at Greensboro College

Nick Peoples has committed to play golf at Greensboro College announced Pride head Coach Dirk Fennie. Peoples is 19 years old and hails from North Berwick, Scotland and attended The Edinburgh Academy.

Peoples shot a four under par 68 at West Lancashire Golf Club in a tournament organized by Nick Faldo. He recently played two rounds of stroke play at North Berwick as a qualifier for the club championship. Peoples shot rounds of 74 and 76 and qualified for the matchplay stages in fifth place.

“I had a brief visit to Greensboro in early March. I was very impressed with the college and enjoyed meeting Coach Fennie and my future team-mates on the golf team,” said Peoples. “I am looking forward to being part of the Greensboro College community. Playing golf and earning a degree are very important to me.”

The Pride golf team got back on the national stage this past year. GC won two Spring tournaments and placed 11th at the 2010 NCAA Division III championships.

“I look forward to having Nick on the team for the next 4 years,” said Coach Fennie. “I expect him to immediately contribute and to help our ascent as a top DIII golf program.”

Greensboro College is primarily an undergraduate college, also offering four master’s degrees. Coeducational and independent, the institution is located near downtown Greensboro. It was founded in 1838 and is affiliated with the United Methodist Church.

The college enrolls about 1,260 students from about 30 states, the District of Columbia and 21 nations. The school features a strong liberal-arts program and a 16-sport athletic program.
