Greensboro, NC – South Atlantic League President Eric Krupa has announced the rosters for the 51st Annual South Atlantic All-Star Game to be played at Flour Field, June 22, 2010, in Greenville, South Carolina.

The South Atlantic All-Star teams are composed of 27 players, selected by the votes of the team’s managers and coaching staffs, local media and front office executives.

In the Northern Division, the leading vote getter was Greensboro Grasshoppers’ catcher Kyle Skipworth.

Skipworth, who will start at catcher for the Northern team, is coming off a very hot stretch; where in the month of May he batted .298 with 6 home runs and 21 RBI to lead the Grasshoppers. On the season Skipworth is batting .242 with 10 home runs and 32 RBI.

  1. Skipworth is the ONLY representative from Greensboro in the SAL All-Star Game. Delmarva and West Virginia has 3, Lakewood as 4, while Hagersontown, Hickory and Kannapolis all have 5 on the Northern Team.

  2. Don,

I’m thinking that maybe after all the dust settles that the North may add AJ Ramos, the Sally League leader in saves and Justin Bass with 12-13 HR’s(#2 in the league) and near 25 RBI’s and then that would give the Hoppers at least two or three reps on the Northern squad…..

We need Ramos and Bass from the Hoppers in the SAL All-Star Game at Flour Field in Greenville, S.C……
