That move by the Florida Marlins is a WILD ONE!

By way of Chris Jones and through Don Moore we have learned that the Florida Marlins have named Edwin Rodriguez to be their interim manager and he is joied by Brandon Hyde and John Mallee….

Edwin managed the Grasshoppers two years ago and before that, Brandon Hyde was the Hoppers’ boss; in fact, Hyde was the first-ever skipper of the Greensboro Grasshoppers and John Mallee has been coming to Greensboro, off and on now, for five years and he was just here with us, two weeks ago….

There is now so much Greensboro Grasshoppers influence on the Marlins team, that it is unreal….Rodriguez, Hyde, Mallee, Mike Stanton, Chris Coghlan, Gaby Sanchez, Chris Volstad, Taylor Tankersley, Alex Sanabia, Jay Buente and others…..

The Hoppers are now the Florida Marlins in many ways and let’s hope Edwin can stick with them at the top for a while and you would think that the Marlins, saw that Edwin had quite a bit of experiecne with these current kids, since he managed so many of them in Greensboro and at New Orleans…

Edwin always told me that he wanted to make to the front office one day, maybe a U-turn stop, to the Major League dugout along the way…..

In a stunning move on Wednesday morning, the Florida Marlins announced that Gonzalez had been dismissed, as well as bench coach Carlos Tosca and hitting coach Jim Presley.

The team named Edwin Rodriguez interim manager. Brandon Hyde takes over as interim bench coach and John Mallee will be the interim hitting coach.
