High Point Andrews wins Red Raider Shootout

After a very good weekend of basketball, the tournament went like this.

In the second round and beyond played on Sunday, Smith beat Page, High Point Andrews beat East Chapel Hill, Southwest Guildford beat Wheatmore, Ragsdale beat Trinity.

Then, Andrews beat SW by 10 and Ragsdale beat Smith by 1.

Andrews jumped to a 19-0 lead and won the championship game by beating Ragsdale 59
to 34.

Andrews went 7-0 for the weekend.

Andrews was lead by seniors Darius Rogers, Torian Showers, and Mark Johnson and by
juniors Corban Collins and Jalen Ford. Juniors Tyrin Miller and Donald Williamson
also had huge contributions off the bench.

  1. Ragsdale went 6-1. 16-4 overall for the summer so far. 4 losses to Andrews, Olympic, Concord and Person. All on 2nd or 3rd games of the day. 3 of the 4 were conference champions last year. No excuses. Starters playing a lot of minutes bench still developing. Should be fine come season – Believe scrimmage Grimsley and High Point Christian Thursday at Ragsdale.

    Andrews appear about 10 deep. Most likely conference favorite.
