Walters commits to Greensboro College women’s soccer

Tiffanny Walters has committed to play women’s soccer at Greensboro College, announced Pride Head Coach Ian Spooner.

Walters played club soccer for the SYC Liberty U-18 for seven years. She was coached by Scott Simpson and her team went undefeated and allowed only two goals the entire season.

A native of Fairfax, Va. Walters attended W.T. Woodson High School. She was a standout for her high school track team. Walters earned All District honors in the 200m,300m, 400m, 500m, 4x100m and 4x400m. She also was a member of the All State 4x400m relay team.

“Tiffany is an exciting prospect and we’re glad she is joining our program,” Spooner said. “She has tremendous speed and we believe she will develop into an important part of our team.”

Walters joins T’Keyah Henry, Tinna Bjarndís Bergþórsdóttir, Mary Randolph and Sarah Lang who previously committed to the progrmam.

Greensboro College is primarily an undergraduate college, also offering four master’s degrees. Coeducational and independent, the institution is located near downtown Greensboro. It was founded in 1838 and is affiliated with the United Methodist Church.

The college enrolls about 1,260 students from about 30 states, the District of Columbia and 21 nations. The school features a strong liberal-arts program and a 16-sport athletic program.

The 2009 Greensboro College women’s soccer team posted a record of 10-8-1. The Pride placed third in the USA South and advanced to the conference semifinals.

    Also, Matthew Mills, Page High has committed to UVA to play mens soccer. He’s another good one.
