Courtney’s coming to Greensboro College

Sean Courtney, a 6’0 190 pound midfielder, from Orlando, Fla. has committed to play men’s soccer at Greensboro College this fall.

Courtney played for Dr. Phillips High School as well as the Florida Rush club team.
During his career, he captained both his high school and club teams as well as
being named Team MVP during his junior year of high school. Sean is the son of
Preston and Katrina Courtney.

“Sean is an incredibly strong midfield who’s work ethic will be something that
hopefully rubs off on some of the other boys," said GC Head Coach Giovanni
Vlahos. "Sean is incredible in the air and a very tenacious defender. He’s
a great young man who fits the mold of what we want the culture of a player to be
for Pride soccer. He’ll fit in perfectly with our team as well as the Greensboro
community."

Courtney joins ten other incoming freshman who will join Pride men’s soccer in 2010.

Greensboro College is primarily an undergraduate college, also offering four
master’s degrees. Coeducational and independent, the institution is located
near downtown Greensboro. It was founded in 1838 and is affiliated with the United
Methodist Church.

The college enrolls about 1,260 students from about 30 states, the District of
Columbia and 21 nations. The school features a strong liberal-arts program and a
16-sport athletic program.
