NCBA Golden Spikes move to (2-0) at World Wood Bat 17u Championships

The NCBA Golden Spikes have won again, at the 17u World Wood Bat Championships, in East Cobb, Georgia…..The team they defeated this time was from Dallas Texas.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, the score was 8-7, with Dallas in front. With runners on second and third, and 2 outs. Sanders “Kuxie” Kuxhausen(Northwest Guilford) comes to the plate for the Golden Spikes…..The count is 3 balls and 2 strikes and with the payoff pitch due, Kuxhausen comes through, and hits a double to win the game….

Austin Cole(Southwest Guilford) was the winning pitcher and the other Guilford County players are Nin Mereo(Western Guilford), who went 2 for 2 at the plate and Alec Bankhead(Greensboro Day School) who drew two walks….

The Spikes head to the field early for a 9am game on Thursday, with a chance to beat the heat and to move on to (3-0) in the tournament.
