Brendan Haywood will be hosting another one day free basketball camp at Dudley High School. Applications will be accepted from players between 6-14 years of age. The purpose of this camp is to teach fundamentals of the game of basketball to players that are serious about improving their game. Participants will also learn the importance of doing well in school and being a valuable member of their communities.

“I’m happy to provide this chance for kids from my hometown to learn some basketball drills and skills to help improve their game” says Haywood. “There aren’t many “free” basketball camps in this area but there are plenty of disadvantaged youths interested in learning more about the game. Most of the kids we’ll help are from single-parent families and probably couldn’t afford to attend paid camps.”

Haywood, who was raised in a single-parent home, is dedicated to helping kids from single-parent households and has sponsored numerous charitable initiatives for them in Greensboro and Washington, DC.

Camp instructors include; middle school coaches, high school coaches, high school and college players along with NBA players and special guest speakers.

Once again all basketball players from the Greensboro area are invited to participate in Brendan Haywood’s FREE Basketball camp. Please be encouraged to respond quickly because there is only space for the 1st 150 applicants. Lunch will be provided. If there are any questions please see contact information.

Got room for a young man from the Haw River area (not far from Greensboro)? He has been raised for years by a single parent, his grandmother, who works with me at UNC Healthcare. The boys name is Ronald, and he is a fan of UNC basketball.
