Greensboro College does not go far to get Long

Long Commits to Men’s Soccer

Jamil Long, a forward from Columbus, Ga., has committed to play men’s soccer for Greensboro College this fall.

Long (5-10, 155 pounds) played for Pacelli High School. He finished his prep career with 20 goals and 39 assists. Long was recognized as the team MVP, all-region and All Bi-City. Long also played club soccer with Georgia’s CFC Redstar. Jamil is the son of Warren and Priscilla Long.

“Jamil is that natural striker that our team was missing last year,” said Pride Head Coach Giovanni Vlahos. “If he continues in college with finding the net as he did in high school and club, we’ll be extremely happy. The great thing about Jamil is that he also sets up his teammates. That unselfishness is going to make him even better. He’s eager to not only succeed on the pitch but also in the GC classroom.”
