Raleigh, N.C. — North Carolina State University will unveil a memorial Tuesday that’s dedicated to its late women’s basketball coach.

Kay Yow died Jan. 24, 2009, at the age of 66, after a 22-year battle with breast cancer.

The Kay Yow Memorial, which will be unveiled at 3 p.m. on the west side of Reynolds Coliseum, features a garden surrounding a stone-paved walkway, leading to a statue of Yow sitting on a pink granite pedestal, N.C. State said in a news release Monday.

Debbie Yow, Yow’s sister and N.C. State’s new athletic director, is among a list of university officials expected to speak at the unveiling.
