Former 1990s valet/women’s wrestler Luna Vachon (Gertrude Vachon) reportedly died today at age 48.

The National Wrestling Alliance issued a statement, saying, “The NWA would like to extend its thoughts and condolences to the family of Luna Vachon, who has died at the age of 48. There are few families who have given more to professional wrestling than the Vachons. Please keep them in your thoughts.”

Vachon, who was the niece of WWE Hall of Famer “Mad Dog” Vachon and daughter of “Butcher” Paul Vachon, lost most of her valuables in a house fire earlier this month. Vachon lived in Florida.

Vachon gained national notoriety in the 1990s as the manager of “Bam Bam” Bigelow in WWF. She also challenged for the WWF Women’s Title, but never captured the title.

Vachon was most notably married to former WWE wrestler Gangrel (David Heath) before they divorced in 2006. She was honored by the Cauliflower Alley Club for Ladies Wrestling at last year’s event.
