Guilford College Quakers’ Athletics Update

Guilford’s Brittany Freeman had 16 kills and Malikah French added 12 as the
Quakers’ volleyball team rallied for a 3-2 win over Meredith Wednesday

The Quakers fell at North Carolina Wesleyan, 3-1, in both teams’ men’s
soccer opener Wednesday. Tamer El-Amoor scored for Guilford in the 61st
minute and teammate Peter Truitt made five saves in goal. Follow the link

Guilford’s women’s soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to visiting Methodist
on Hot Dog Night at the Armfield Athletic Center. The Quakers’ Sarah Levitt
netted her first Guilford goal in the 83rd minute.

The Quakers’ golf team is ranked third in the Golf World/Nike Golf Preseason
Division III Coaches’ Poll.

Guilford is being coached this season by Corey Maggard, a 2008 graduate of
Transylvania University.

Both of the Quakers’ cross country teams have been picked sixth in the
preseason ODAC Coaches’ Polls.

After an exciting summer that included a stint on the Los Angeles Lakers’
Summer League team, former Guilford basketball standout Tyler Sanborn has
signed a professional basketball contract with a team in Spain.
