SOUP BOWL: Greensboro College at Guilford College

I played in a bowl game back in the day….It was the old “Tobacco Belt Bowl” up in Danville, Virginia……It was a lot of fun and now I look forward to attending the Soup Bowl again this season, with Greensboro College facing Guilford at Guilford College this evening, at 7pm on the Appenzeller Field, inside the Armfield Athletic Center….

This will be a great small-college atmosphere and a large crowd is expected….Why not stay in town and support our local teams? You can always go watch the “so-called Big Boys”, later in the season…..

This is College Football’s Opening Week and Guilford College should be the destination TONIGHT……

A final note on the game from Dr. Bob Lowe at Greensboro College:

The 14th Gate City Soup Bowl is almost here! With that in mind, keep the canned food donations coming in. Kudos to The Pride softball team for delivering 296 cans Friday! A reminder: this is Guilford’s home game and your Pride card will not help for admission.

Admission costs are as follows:
$10 – premium seating
$5 – general admission
$3 – youth (age 13-18)
Free – children under 12

HOWEVER, all fans bringing two or more non-perishable food items to the game receive FREE admission. Food donations benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina (make sure your donation goes to The Pride’s bin!). NOTE: Chick Fil-A is providing a coupon to a limited number of those who enter with canned goods. Thanks to our sponsor, Chick-Fil-A Friendly Center, for helping with this promotion.

If you cannot attend the gane, Guilford is providing video and live stats, which are accessible at greensborocollegeports.com.
