Guilford College tops Greensboro 5-0 in men’s soccer

Greensboro, NC — Guilford College defeated Greensboro College, 5-0, in a men’s soccer match at Pride Field. The visiting Quakers out-shot GC, 19-11. Woody Wilder (Wytheville, VA/George Wythe) made five saves for The Pride.

Eto’O Kemda-Kemtsop tallied twice for Guilford (4-2). The Quakers led 2-0 at the break on scores from Ronnie Castellanos (13th minute) and Kemda-Kemtsop (39th minute).

Freddy Gomez scored in the 67th minute, in the 78th and Kereith Pinnock in the 87th.

Guilford had a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.

Greensboro (1-4-1) plays at Chowan University this Saturday.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Rookie Eto’O Kemda-Kemtsop (Washington,
D.C./Trinity-Pawling (N.Y.)) scored twice off the bench in visiting Guilford
College’s 5-0 victory over Greensboro College Wednesday afternoon at Pride
Field.

The Quakers’ (4-2) fourth straight win marked their sixth in 20 all-time
meetings with Greensboro (1-4-1) and their first since 2007.

Ronnie Castellanos (Lexington, N.C./North Forsyth) and Kemda-Kemtsop tallied
first-half goals for a 2-0 Guilford edge. Freddy Gomez (Burlington,
N.C./Williams) and Kereith Pinnock (Carver, Mass./Carver) scored around
Kemda-Kemtsop’s second goal to provide the final margin.

Peter Truitt (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson) made five saves in goal
before giving way to Jonathan Shine for the final 10:02. Guilford outshot
the Pride, 19-11.

The Quakers open Old Dominion Athletic Conference play Saturday (9/18) at
Randolph-Macon College.
