Football festivities when Greensboro College hosts Ferrum on Saturday with FREE food and drink available at the tailgate

Greensboro College football hosts Ferrum College on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. There are a number of important activities associated with the game.

First of all, GC invites all area children to attend the game–free of charge, with an adult– and get the opportunity to experience a college football game.

Before kick-off, there will be a pre-game tailgate. As part of breast cancer awareness month, donations will be taken. Fans making any donation will receive free food and drink at the tailgate! All GC and Ferrum fans are welcome. We thank Robert Leonard for making this event possible.

More About Take a Kid to the Game…

The TAKG program presented by Coca-Cola, and sponsored by other Corporate Champions, AT&T and Pontiac. Kids, ages fourteen and younger, will receive a free ticket when accompanied with an adult, to watch The Pride at Jamieson Stadium. Area youth programs are encouraged to attend. Groups can receive free access and their chaperones are also admitted free.

Greensboro College is one of more than 200 schools across the nation hosting a game for this campaign, which is focused on allowing youth the opportunity to attend college football games.

“We encourage you to save the date,” GC Athletics Director Jean Lojko said. “Greensboro College is excited about this event where kids from the community will have a chance to be a part of our game day experience, and support NCAA Football’s Take A Kid to the Game program. This game day experience is an opportunity for children to spend quality time with a parent or role model, and learn about sportsmanship that can be demonstrated on the playing field.”

The Take A Kid to the Game program is one of the national promotions of NCAA Football, the marketing arm of college football. NCAA Football represents a coalition of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, and the Conference Commissioners Association.
