  1. 14-7 sorry. Andy trying to listen to the game on WPET 950 website but if all 3 of you talk at the same time on a cellular connection it’s impossible to make out.

  2. For those of you who feel Summers is a D1 qb instead of a db or a safety need to come to a game.

  3. Listening to Smith-Grimsley; Smith just scored, tie game 14-14. Boy, the WPET feed sounds absolutely terrible.

What is happening to the Page Pirates???

  4. TO WHOEVER UPDATES SCORES ON THIS WEBSITE

Apparently you have the incorrect score on the Page-So. Alamance game. Folks at the game are posting here that Page is losing. Get it right, guys.

  5. Either Smith is having a huge letdown after the Page game or Grimsley is playing out their — tonight…this game is tied at 14 after 3 quarters. Smith ran roughshod over Page last Friday. That’s why you have to love high school football!!!

  6. He’s a nice athlete but not a a qb. They should be beating AS by 5 touchdown based on the disparity in talent.

  7. Thanks Bobby. I have seen him play a bunch of positions. I guess you can’t be all things. Thanks for your input. Not there tonight to see it.

  8. Bobby – next year JV QB Putnam will be full time Varsity. Between Summers and Putnam – I think they will make some magic happen. Seen it all year long from both guys in different ways.

  9. Haha, wow. Didn’t mean to type Dudley. Jim Modlin was calling out the scores on WPET, and after he said the Page/SA score, he said the Dudley score. Probably why I typed Dudley on accident.

  10. I’m with you, John. I would love for that to be the score next week. Gotta finish the season with W’s. No more L’s.

  11. Guy that interviewed Coach Brewington during the post game said, coach 29 times. That has to be a world record, COACH.

  12. Andy,
Tried to listen to the game on 950 and it sounded like I was on the cell phone in an elevator. C’mon Man! There’s something about that Corio his kids come in 1 for 2010 playing a powerhouse at Smith and they give it their all. Were in the game until Simpson got knocked out. Could be something there. Congrats to Smith on a great year so far.

  13. The Page game was a nailbiter in the 1st half. IDK what Coach G said to them at the half but whatever it was it worked because they played like they were posessed. Final 54 to 20. Does anyonw know who scored those two tb’s for Page?

  14. I can’t really point out any one player tonight because it was a total team effort from the Pirates. GREAT GAME!

  15. Plenty of noise over at Smith tonight with our vantage point right up under a blaring speaker, but you take it and run with it……Strong first half outing by Grimsley and when Simpson went out, the lights went for the Whirlies…..

McNair was battling and he seemed much more relaxed when he was settled under center taking the snaps, than when he was back there in the shotgun formation…..Grimsley’s defense put pressure on Smith’s QB Jeff Sims tonight and he had not seen pressure quite like that so far this season…..

Duke McCoy stepped up big for Smith and carrried the team on his senior shoulders through most of the game and especially in the second half….

Eventually I think you’ll see Sims and Simpson in the shotgun for Smith and Wesson, I mean Smith and Grimsley respectively…..When Simpson hits the gun later on, he will be ready to blow open some ball games, the kid already has a good eye out there for the Whirlies…..Let’s hope he’s back in the saddle/fold soon after the hard hits he took tonight…..Kiandre Thompson was coming in from the blind side like a man possessed in the first half of the Smith-Grimsley game, and Thompson was coming in untouched….Grimsley was loading up the offense on the left side, to try and contain Eric Ebron and the Whirlies had success with that approach, but it left Thompson in position to shoot straight in on Simpson and Thompson was flying in unblocked……

Big game and much closer than what anyone expected, especially in the first half….Grimsley put up a good fight and they won the first half….Smith made some real nice adjustments at halftime and the seniors on the Golden Eagles’ squad really stepped it up, and Duke McCoy was leading the charge by Smith and Demari Boswell had a great punt return for a TD to end the scoring on the night and close it out at 35-14…..Mike Millner had a super run for a Smith TD that covered 79 yards and the Eagles of Smith have claimed the Metro 4-A Conference title for 2010…..

Smith-Grimsley, again a much better football game than anyone had ever dreamed and it was a ton of fun in the first half, when the game was so tight and Grimsley made it a real ball game…..When Simpson exited, it was over for Grimsley…..

McCoy has to be your Player of the Game and Kiandre Thompson is not far off and Demari Boswell gets a nod too……

I have to get a look at some final stats, but this is the way we are calling it, now three hours after the game was completed…..10-11, 11-12, and 12-1am…..That’s three hours or something like that…..

  16. Sorry for the comments last night Andy. I was a little frustrated with all the background noise. I appreciate what you do.

  17. That’s not a problem at all….We need that type of feedback….It is good to know that people are listening or trying to listening and that shows they have a love for the sport….The noise was big-time at Smith last night, but we got a good game in return, especially that first half….

If we are not trying to improve upon what we are doing with the broadcast and the web site work then we are wasting our time and efforts and we need to work to get better each day and on all game days….

Let us know more and keep on listening and reading….I think we’ll strike gold with this thing one day or we might strike out trying, but at least we came to the plate and we better be ready and well-prepared when we get our shot….

Very happy for Josh Hamilton and the Texas Rangers today….Hamilton battled in and out and on and off the field for years and finally got it right and it has been worth the work and the wait for him….For all he went through over the years, he has reached the top and that is good…

I wonder what ever happened in the end to Trot Nixon, another North Carolina high school kid that could play some baseball and a little football too….

The game is on, let’s stay in it and continue the fight….
