Guilford’s football team dropped a 59-21 setback at Randolph-Macon College
Saturday. The Quakers’ Justin Parker made 10 catches for 109 yards in the
loss. Teammate David LaPlaca had a game-high 10 tackles and the Quakers’
Brad Gayhardt scored on an 88-yard fumble return.

The Quakers’ volleyball team swept two matches from visiting Virginia
Wesleyan College and Averett University Saturday. Guilford downed the
Marlins, 3-1, behind Mary Moody’s 14 kills and 22 digs. Traci Teague had a
game-high 15 kills on .303 hitting to lead the Quakers past Averett, 3-1.

The Quakers’ women’s swimming team opened the season with a sixth-place
finish at the ODAC Relays Saturday. Guilford had four teams record
fifth-place finishes and sophomore Allison Semmler swam on each of them.
