WWBA Championship ends in tie…

3-3 with Chet Lemon’s Juice and Andy Partin’s Dirtbags in the finals this afternoon at the World Wood Bat Championships in Jupiter, Florida….

The Juice over the Canes in one Monday morning semifinal 8-0 and then Lemon’s Juice faced Partin’s Dirtbags, who topped the FTB Mizuno/Cardinals, 1-0, in the other semi…..

The game was called after eight innings in an effort to save some of the pitcher’s arms, since a few of the kids had already thrown innings on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and some teams had played 9 games in four days….

Locally, Josh Tobias(Southeast Guilford HS) was with the Canes in the semis and DC Arendas(Northern Guilford HS) made it to the finals with Andy Partin’s Dirtbags……

  1. Nobody likes a tie,but in this case, it was the right decision and a class act for both coaches to suggest it and the PG staff to agree.

  2. AP left a 17 yr old behind that finished in 9th place this summer with GBC at the 18uWWB in East Cobb , defeated Team Georgia , and went to the State Champ. with East Forsyth . Putting him on his Fall DB team.

  3. To all the haters, these coaches are far better than any around here. Find something good to say. Please!
    They not only develop players but black men with confidence. Everyone will not get the honor to play on
    this team. Too bad! Many are called, but few are chosen….There are other teams out there! Unfortunately,
    you will not get the experience we did. There are no perfect teams but this team is the one all the TALK is
    about. Guys! If people are talking, you are doing something right!!!!!!! Much love to Haywood Elite and the
    coaches……..
