Greensboro College golf honors come rolling in

Ben Nihart (Winston-Salem, NC/Home school) and Gregory Pappas (Warrenton, Va./Fauquier) sweep the USA South Golf honors this week for Greensboro College.

Nihart, a junior, is the USA South golfer of the week. He placed tied for 22nd at the Oglethorpe Invitational on October 19, by shooting a six-over 148. In the two-day event, Nihart opened with a six-over par 77 then finished with an even-par 71. His performance helped The Pride to a sixth place finish. This week, Nihart placed fourth at the O’Briant-Jensen Memorial in Greensboro, by shooting a six-over par 146. In the two-day event, Nihart opened with a one-over par 71 then finished with a five-over par 75. His performance led The Pride to a third place finish.

Pappas, a freshman, is the rookie golfer of the week. He placed tied for tenth at the O’Briant-Jensen Memorial in Greensboro on Tuesday, by shooting a ten-over par 150. In the two-day event, Pappas opened with a six-over par 76, then finished with a four-over par 74. His performance helped The Pride B team to an impressive fourth place finish.
