Guilford College goes to (15-12) after volleyball win at Randolph College

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Traci Teague had a team-high 11 kills on .668 hitting and
teammate Brittany Freeman added 10 kills in visiting Guilford College’s
25-15, 25-13, 25-20 volleyball win over Randolph College Friday night. The
victory improved Guilford’s overall record to 15-12, the Quakers’ best since
1995 and gives the Quakers a 5-5 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC)
mark, their best since 2002.

Teague and Freeman helped Guilford record its second-best hitting percentage
of the season (.365), The pair combined for 21 of the Quakers’ 38 kills.
Guilford also served up 10 aces, five by senior Courtney Kozar. Taylor
Whitley had 12 assists and teammate Kate Dailey (Jamestown, N.C./Ragsdale)
added 11 helpers. Taylor Phillips paced the Quakers with nine kills.

Randolph (8-21, 1-9 ODAC) was led by Kristen Spinner’s match-high 18 kills
on .419 hitting. Caroline English had 27 assists and Caitlin Glennen had 20
digs.

The Quakers also learned their fate for next weekend’s ODAC Tournament at
Hollins University. Guilford secured the number-six seed and meets
third-seeded Virginia Wesleyan College next Friday (11/5) at 6:30 p.m.
Guilford scored a 3-1 home win over the Marlins last Saturday.

Guilford closes the regular season Wednesday (11/3) against Salem College.
