BRISTOL, Conn. — Jon Miller and Joe Morgan are out as announcers on ESPN’s “Sunday Night Baseball” after 21 seasons.

“Over the last two decades, Joe went from Hall of Fame player to one of his sport’s top analysts and Jon’s Hall of Fame voice and tremendous knowledge of the game have connected with baseball fans everywhere,” ESPN executive vice president Norby Williamson said in a statement Monday. “We owe them our deepest thanks for an outstanding body of work.”

The network did not announce replacements.

  1. What a mistake ESPN has made! Miller was just inducted into the hall of fame in Cooperstown. Somebody’s going to get a couple of great announcers. I only hope they stay together as a team.

  2. Miller was good but I found Morgan too judgemental and obnoxious. At times they used the Sunday night game to discuss all the weeks headlines instead of calling the game. If I wanted discussion on the weeks headlines I would watch Baseball Tonight.

  3. Joe Morgan was a great announcer and analyst that concise and precise on his assessments of players and the decisions that they made in certain situations. He was never obnoxious. He was great at what he did. Plus he played the game that way when he help lead the BIG RED MACHINE to several titles. Great sharp and articulate speaker.

  4. Sunday night baseball was the best. Those 2 made watching the game interesting. Fox coverage stinks. I can’t imagine having to watch with Tim McCarver doing the talking. I muted the World Series with him on. MLB baseball is the next best thing if not the best.
