  1. GDS finally looked like what I have been expecting. Dominating the paint!!! The big 3 were really good. Great energy from Lucas and Terry. PG’s took care of the ball. Hopefully they can play well again tonight.

  2. Have to agree with what you are saying Appy….The Big Three did play well and Q Williams even took th e ball the length of the court on one occasion(Williams going coast to coast) and he made the bucket, but was called for the charge….You don’t always like to see your big man bringing the ball up the court like that, but, it does show he has lost some excess weight and the big man can move….All three big men showed mobility on Monday….BTW, Williams was given some time off from the game and on the court action, after his coast to coast trip and the insuing charge call, as this resulted in a visit to the Bengal bench for him and a word or two of encouragement from Coach Smith…

Jaleel Roberts looks a ton like Josh Shoemaker, who used to be with the GDS girl’s coaching staff and he played at Wake Forest…Shoemaker was heavier, Leel is very lean, but they do look a lot alike….

The guards were good and John Terry does have a nice flow that can get the ball to the basket and JT is strong enough to get through there and he can hit the lane area, with limited dribbles….Lucas’ shot still needs a little polish and Kleinmann impressed me, because last year he was more of just a shooter and now he has become quite a bit of a deliberate point guard-type player and he is bringing the ball into the meat of the defense and breaknig it down…..Jalen Ross also still needs a little polish on his game and it will come around for him….

GDS does have quality depth and probably more than they have had before, when you bring Chapman and Christian Hairston into the mix….

Good game setting and the Bengals had plenty of time to warm up……

  3. LMBO GDS DID LOOK GOOD BUT MOUNT ZION IS JUST A BAD TEAM. THEY DIDT HAVE ONE PLAY CALLED I THINK THATS WHAT MADE GDS LOOK GOOD. GDS IS SMALL AND THE GUARDS CANT STOP A BABY FROM FALLIN OFF A BED… THIS WILL BE A LONG SEASON FOR GDS BUT AGAIN MOUNT ZION WAS JUST A BAD TEAM…… THAT MADE GDS LOOK GOOD.

  4. GDS every year has players that go there and just aren’t great when they go. The key to the team as almost every other year is their coaching. Freddy Johnson is a brilliant coach and always implements an excellent stategy. When Jaleel got to GDS, he wasn’t that good. He was just a backup for Jordan Robertson. But after a few years of coaching from Freddy and the rest of his staff he has developed into quite the player. Unfortunately, the downside to this is that players are hit and miss. For instance, Luke Thomas reclassed last year to remain a junior and “play” for Freddy for two years. He was a good player at central but just simply hasn’t fit into the system GDS runs and for that reason he rarely plays.
