Greensboro College women start (4-0) with Wilborn(Graham), Duncan(Ragsdale), Pickard(Page) and Richburg(HBO) leading the way….

Demorest, Ga. — Nikki Wilborn (Graham NC/Graham) poured in game-high 24 points as Greensboro College won at Piedmont College, 80-62, on Saturday. Wilborn led four GC players who scored in double-digits as The Pride improved to 4-0.

Wilborn made four 3-point baskets and was a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line. Danielle Duncan (Greensboro, NC/Ragsdale) had 18 points and was a perfect 10-10 from the charity stripe. Freshman Chevena Pickard (Greensboro, NC/Page) came off the bench to score a season-best 14 points. Bianca Richburg (Hillsborough, NC/Orange County) recorded a double-double with 13 points and 15 boards.

Greensboro College led at halftime, 36-30, and never trailed in the second half. The Pride had 59 rebounds to 40 for PC. GC was 27-31 (87-percent) from the free throw line.

“It’s nice to win on the road and start 4-0.” said GC Head Coach Randy Tuggle. “We didn’t play our best and still got the win. Danielle (Duncan) got in foul trouble and Jada Alvardo came in got 10 rebounds.”

Pidemont dropped to 2-2 after the defeat. Lauren Hamel had 16 points and Amber Satterfield added 14 for the Lions.

GC opens USA South Conference play at Methodist University on Wednesday night.
