N.C. A&T over Greensboro Collge on Friday night at Corbett Center

Greensboro, N.C. — Thomas Coleman had 14 points and ten rebounds as North Carolina A&T defeated Greensboro College, 79-58, at the Corbett Center on Friday night. Freshman Damian Dixon (Tampa, FL/Wharton) scored a game-high 19 points for The Pride.

Dixon was 7-12 from the field and made three baskets from beyond the arc. Luqman Tijani (Greensboro, NC/Page ) added nine points and Daren Dexter (Sarasota, FL/Riverview) had a team-best six rebounds for GC.

A&T improved to 3-3 and GC dropped to 2-3. The Aggies led at halftime, 43–23.

“We played hard and much better in the second half,” said GC Head Coach Bryan Galuski. “I am glad our guys hung in there against a taller and faster DI opponent.”

The meeting was the first between Gate City colleges. GC started playing men’s hoops in 1966, North Carolina A&T in ’52.

DeMetrius Upchurch added 12 points for the Agges. A&T shot 48-percent (30-63) to 32-percent (23-71) for The Pride. GC lost the battle of the boards, 46-41.

GC next plays at Piedmont College on Wednesday night.
