Amber Cook(Grimsley HS) captains the cause at Maryland Eastern Shore

Amber Cook used to be the starting point guard for the Grimsley Whirlies and Coach Phil Weaver….Now in her junior year, at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, she is the team captain and she’s still running the team from the guard position…..

UMES WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
The Lady Hawks suffered their first loss of the season, falling on the road to in-state opponent Mt. St. Mary’s 65-56, getting a 1-1 record.

The Mount got to the free throw line 42 times, converting 23 in the win. Amber Cook (Greensboro, N.C./Grimsley High School) led UMES with 14 points and seven rebounds in her second start as captain. Chelsea Sanders (Rochester, N.Y.) was close to a double-double with nine points and seven rebounds. Kwinnyata Mercer (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) scored 10 points with two steals in the second half off the bench for the Lady Hawks.

  1. Lucas left Florida for Delaware over the summer and will have to sit out one year under the transfer plan and Jasmine Gill, from Page that was at Boston College, left BC headed for JMU, the James Madison University Dukes….

    We will have to do some other search work on the other girls….Hargraves was at Charlotte, Aslton at UNC-Wilmington and maybe Fields at UNC-Wilmington…We have to do some looks..

  2. Nicole Hargraves is now at Georgia State. Alston was at JCSmith or FayettevilleState last year after transferring fromn UNC Wilmington. She’s not at either this year. Not sure where Fields is currently

  3. Alston is currently at North Carolina Central and fields is and always has been at Towson university in Maryland.
