River Mill defeated Granville Central 75-59, in Carolina 10 2-A/1-A Conference girls basketball action on Saturday.
The fast-paced game between undefeated teams featured many lead changes during the first half. The Lady Jaguars were able to hold a slim 31-30 lead, at intermission. The 3rd quarter continued to be a back and forth affair, and the score was knotted for the final time at 44-44, at the 3:00 mark.
River Mill amped up it’s defensive intensity however, to outscore Granville Central 31 to 14 for the remainder of the contest.
Ashley Spivey scored a game high 24 points, to lead five Lady Jaguar players who scored in double figures. 2010 NCPreps All-State selection Kelva Atkins scored 21 for Granville Central.
