Eastern Guilford girls win battle of the ‘Cats as the Wildcats top Cougars on Tuesday night

Eastern Guilford won a hard fought battle with Conference foe Rockingham 52-42.

Stony Brook University signee guard Miranda Jenkins, help guide a young Eastern
squad to a 29-25 half time lead and help to stave off several Rockingham runs by
finishing with 30 points, 7 rebounds, 7 steals, 3 assists, 3 blocks. The young
Widcats got great contributions from Karima Jackson whom returned to action
after missing the opener by leading the team with 9 steals. Priscilla Ojare came
off the bench to grab a career high of 6 rebounds and help to neutralize the
middle. Sophomore Erica Olerich continues to display great overall ability by
contributing 7 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks. Freshmen
Tierra Poteat got her first start and had 3 rebs, 2 steals and 1 block . The
young Cats continue to hustle through out the game and force Rockingham into 24 turnovers.
