Here’s what we have on All-Conference football reps from NWG…

Received this list earlier in the week for Northwest Guilford Vikings on the Piedmont 4-A All-Conference football team and I still think that Coach Joe Woodruff has been named the Coach of the Year, but still haven’t seen it in print yet, but we will say we are making it official/unofficial here…..

Here is the complete Northwest Guilford list:
Jr- Matt Pawlowski-QB
Soph- Reid Baxter-RB
Jr- Dalton Dillon-RB
Sr- Matt Sugg-OL
Sr- Josh Smith-DE
Sr- Alex Pauley-LB
Jr- Logan Lover-LB
Sr- Nolan Carper-CB

  1. The NW offense should not have any trouble scoring next season with Pawlowski, Baxter, and Dillon returning. Their Defense will have to reload but all in all look for the Vikings to make another strong push for the Piedmont Triad 4A title.

  2. I could not agree more NW had a great year and should be able to score come next year.
They will be filling some big shoes on Defense for next season. The Pauley’s at LB
Matt Sugg, Doggett and Josh Smith on the D-Line just to name a few. Hopefully they got some guys coming up.

  3. NW will have eight returning starters on offense or nine including Kyle Christie, who started the season strong before suffering an injury. So with all of the skill players (Pawloski, Dillon, Baxter, Overcash, C. Smith) back and three of the linemen (Yates, Campbell and A. Smith), alot will be expected from this team offensively next year.

Defesnsively, they return two DB’s who started as sophomores (Tingler and Parrish) and All-Conference linebacker Logan Lover. Many of the underclassmen got playing experience throughout the season along the defensive line and at linebacker but there are definitely some big shoes to fill. Plus, they have some very talented players on the JV squad that will fill in some of these roster spots.

Knowing many of these kids for years I believe they will step-up to the challenge and be a strong contender in the Piedmont Triad 4A.
