Chevena Pickard (Greensboro, NC/Page) of Greensboro College has been picked the USA South Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week. CLICK HERE to see her in action at Greensboro College….
A freshman guard, she helped The Pride to a 2-0 record versus USA South competition last week. She averaged 12.5 points, 3.5 steals, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest. In an 87-42 win over Mary Baldwin, Pickard contributed nine points, two steals, one rebound and one assist. In a 67-48 victory over Shenandoah, she totaled 16 points, five rebounds, five steals and two assists.
This is Pickard’s second time winning the USAS weekly rookie award.
She’s a great athlete and an even better person. I wish her nothing but success both on and off the playing court.
