ACC Men’s Hoops Today: Heels fall by two to Texas at the Greensboro Coliseum

UCF 84, Miami 78

Texas 78, North Carolina 76
Greensboro, N.C.

Georgia Tech 67, Richmond 54

*****Harrison Barnes came up with a big three-point shot for North Carolina, but Texas came right back and nailed a two and they withstood a great pass to half court by Tyler Zeller, that looked like a line drive baseball pass and then North Carolina had a chance with 1.4 seconds remaining, but after a couple of timeouts they couldn’t come up with decent shot and they ran out of time, as Kendall Marshall’s shot went wide-right and did not draw iron and the Heels fall to the Texas Longhorns, 78-76 in a game that displayed an NCAA Tournament-style atmosphere at the Coliseum…Big-time crowd, big-time game and big-time college basketball again at the Greensboro Coliseum……Duke will be there at the Coliseum soon to keep the joint jumpin’……..Super game today and Texas coach Rick Barnes was very complimentary of the Coliseum experience that his Longhorns had a chance to be a part of this afternoon, but he did not comment on if there is some sort of connection, with Rick Barnes and Harrison Barnes…..Distant cousins maybe, or one or the other made one of the Barnes say uncle….

Big-time game and Vern Lundquist and Clarke Kellog made the Gate City(Greensboro) come across as the Home Church of College Basketball during the CBS broadcast of the game……*****
