HPCA(8-3)

HPCA trailed by 7 with 2 minutes in the first round of the Kreul Classic in Coral
Springs, Florida. The Cougars battled back and won the game on two free throws from
Mitchell Oates with 1.6 seconds left. Oates had 21 points to lead HPCA, while Jordan
Weethee had 16 before fouling out with a minute and a half remaining.

A Miramar player missed the front-end of a 1-and-1 with 5 seconds left and Oates
grabbed the rebound and was able to draw a tripping foul at half court with 1.6
seconds left.

HPCA advances to play Florida power Northeast (Ft. Lauderdale) in the second round
at 5:15 tomorrow. Northeast features Clemson signee TJ Sapp.

HPCA moved to 8-3 with the win and it was Miramar’s first loss of the season and
move to 6-1.
