Eastern Guilford holds off Southern Guilford

The young Eastern Guilford Wildcats held off the Southern Guilford late charge and
went on to win 67-49. In a game that saw Eastern get off to a great start and a
slim 36-23 half time lead that was cut to three 48-45 entering the fourth
quarter, the young team kept their composure and turned up the defensive
pressure that held Southern to four points the rest of the way while scoring 19
in the fourth quarter. Sophomore guard Erica Olerich hit three straight three
pointers in the first half and finished with a career high 20 points and 13
rebounds to notch her first double-double. Her backcourt mate junior Karima
Jackson scored 11 points and played stella defense down the stretch to help
secure the victory. Stony Brook University signee Miranda Jenkins scored 27
points and dished out 8 assists to help Eastern improve to 6-1 and 4-0 in
conference play. Kamile Horne scored 18 to lead Southern.

  2. Eastern Fan here, I just have to question the points totals that are posted after every game. It seems when you add up all the points for the players after each game it is 6-8 points higher than the total score of the game. I’m glad we are playing well just wish we could get a little more accurate stat line.

  3. Sorry just realized the last 2 are rebounds. It did seem that some games the point totals have been different.
