LeFevers Powers Guilford Women’s Basketball Past Hollins, 81-64

*GREENSBORO, N.C.– *Senior *Lauren LeFevers *scored 21 of her
team-high 25 points from behind the 3-point line to lead Guilford College to
an 81-64 home victory over Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) -rival
Hollins University Tuesday night. LeFevers’ seven 3-pointers was one shy of
tying *Ann Seufer’s ’10 *school record set in 2006. The Quakers 13 made
tri-fectas was also one shy of the team record set last season versus
Hollins.

Guilford (6-3, 2-2 ODAC) got another strong performance from *Jazlyn
Gibbs*who knocked down 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
*Morgan King *notched her third double-double of the year tallying 14 points
and 13 rebounds, while classmate *Kayla Adams* added 10 points. Freshman *Gabby
Oglesby* tied *Jennie Keichline’s ’04 *school record with five blocked shots
in the game.

Jasmine Greene scored a game-high 26 points while teammate Tamara Phillips
added 16 more to spark a Hollins’ (4-5, 2-3 ODAC) rally which cut an
11-point Guilford lead to just three with 11 minutes remaining. However the
visitors would get no closer the rest of the game as Guilford outscored
Hollins 27-13 down the stretch to pull away and seal the game.

The Quakers return to action this weekend with a pair of games on the road.
Guilford travels to play ODAC-rivals Randolph-Macon (Jan. 7 at 7:00 p.m.)
and Virginia Wesleyan (Jan. 8 at 4:00 p.m.).

Greensboro, NC — T.J. Holman (Raleigh, NC/Wake Forest Rolesville) had 20 points on 10-11 shooting as Greensboro College defeated Covenant, 74-55, on Tuesday night. GC improved to 6-5 and CC dropped to 2-12.

Adam Powell (Stuart, FL/Jensen Beach ) had 11 points and Daren Dexter (Sarasota, FL/Riverview) added 10 for the home team. Dexter also had nine assists, five rebounds and three steals.

The Pride forced 25 Scot turnovers and shot well from the field. GC was 33-64 (52-percent) shooting. It was Greensboro’s second straight and fifth time this year shooting 50-percent or better.

Callum Sears had 17 points and made five 3-pointers for Covenant. The Scots led in rebounds 36-34.

GC led 45-30 at halftime and led by as many as 22 points in the contest.

The Pride hosts Averett to open conference play on Saturday at 4 p.m.
