More game notes….
Halftime score:
Greensboro College 45
Meredith College 14

Overall:
Greensboro College now (10-0) USA South Conference(5-0)
Meredith College(2-6) and (0-4)

BIg test coming for Greensboro College on their home court in Hanes Gymnasium, on Sunday January 23, when Christopher Newport comes rolling into Greensboro, to face the Pride…..We hope the streak will continue until then and beyond, as Coach Randy Tuggle has his team right where they were two years ago at “Tuggle Time”, with then-head coach Jason Tuggle and with the the return of Danielle Duncan to the lineup, it’s like the Pride have picked right up where they left off, back in 2008/2009 and the Tuggle War is being re-enacted on the Greensboro College campus, with now-General Randy Tuggle at the helm…….

Great floor, it is one of the best in the city and maybe the entire state, super gym for a small-college basketball game and with everything going through Danielle Duncan, this team can go a long way and they might even go all the way and re-claim the USA South Conference crown…..The team loves to run and Page-grad Chevena Pickard can run with the best of them and she ran off on more than one exchange going coast-to-coast, in tonight’s win over Meredith……

With a steal the Pride will run you out of the building and I thought Pickard might come out of her shoes on a couple of those breaks, with lead passes coming her way tonight for two points, way too many times for Meredith to keep up with….Good ball movement by the Pride on offense and they know how to swing the ball to get the defense moving, so the Pride can set up the three and if three doesn’t fall, Duncan and Richburg are right there to put back the ball for two……

Swing passes or zip passes as I like to call them and Greensboro College was up by 36, 66-30, with 12 minutes left in the game and then Coach Tuggle felt the tug and gave his bench some quality time late in the contest and the Pride went on to win by 29 points….

Solid effort tonight by the Pride and keep an eye on Duncan, Wilborn, Richburg and Pickard, as you might see any combination of those young ladies on the USA South All-Conference team……

It is “Tuggle Time” again, at Greensboro College and with the General, Randy Tuggle pulling(tugging) the strings, The Pride of Greensboro College stands at a perfect mark of (10-0) and the ladies have their sights set, on the USA South Conference Championship…….

  1. I have said this before, but local basketball fans need to go and watch Greensboro college play. The games are normally free and the basketball is better than you think. A lot of the Saturday games are doubleheaders so you can see the girl’s and boy’s play.
