SWG-NWG girls rewind…..1st Q NWG 15, SWG 12…Halftime NWG 31, SWG 27…3rd Q SWG 44, NWG 38…Final SWG 55, NWG 50….

SWG scoring leaders….Brianna Burgins 17 points….Jessica Pone 17 points….Zena Lovette 8 points…Shannon Buchanan 7 points….

NWG scoring leaders….Michelle Williams 17 points…Alyssa Munson 14 points…Natalie Harper 9 points…
*****The difference in the game was SWG going with the man-to-man defense in the second half and in particular Lovette’s defense on Williams from NWG….Williams on fire in the first half, but Lovette’s defense was on target in the second and helped limit Willams to just one basket and three points….Very entertaining game with many lead changes especially in the first half….Just a few observations….*****Very solid effort from both squads…..

Boys SWG-NWG rewind….1st Q NWG 17, SWG 13…Halftime SWG 42, NWG 32….3rd Q SWG 63, NWG 46…Final SWG 82, NWG 62….

SWG scoring leaders….Jordan Hanner 26 points….Andrew Bostic 12 points…DeAndre Brown 11 points…Terrell Leach 8 points…

NWG scoring leaders….Cody Hylton 13 points…Matt Pawlowski 11 points…Jared Cockerham 10 points…Ryan Doerr and Keaton Haack 8 points each…..
*****Southwest Guilford boys are very deep and extremely quick and they could have scored 100 points tonight if not for numerous substitutions late in the game…SWG can fly and they have a number of athletes on this team and they move the ball up and down the court in rapid pace with very quick and precise passes….Touch pass and shot, quick steal and then a quick shot and if a miss, a follow-up in a hurry and that is SWG….The more they get used to and adjust to this fast style of play, the better they are going to become and they should have a very good shot at winning this conference, just like the SWG girls do….*****

  1. I told you this earlier. EG is in their conference and EG is 1-0 against them, they have to get through Wildcats first. Hanner got shut down last game against them intentionally. Dont annoint them already just cause you was at the game.

  2. SW Guilford competes in the Piedmont Triad 4A Conference – with Ragsdale, NW, High Point Central, Kernersville Glenn, East Forsyth, Winston-Salem Parkland

Eastern Guilford competes in the Mid-State 3A Conference – with Eastern Alamance
McMichael, Morehead, Northern Guilford, Rockingham County, Western Alamance, and Burlington Williams

The game between SW Guilford and Eastern Guilford was non conference!

  3. @ wondering, wait till the re-matchbetween Eastern and Southwest! Southwest played and beat in overtime one of the best teams in the county (Andrews) the night before they played Eastern. Hard physical and emotional game for the kids, coaching staff and fans. No excuses, but SW team plays and are successful when they bring the energy and that night versus Eastern, they were drained. Eastern played a very good game and I want to give them credit for that, but when they meet again, it could be ugly!!!!!

  4. Ask Western Guilford? We jumped all over Western Guilford both times and Jordan Hanner and Terrel Leach showed them why they were the best on the court in both games and why they are two of best players in the county. Jordan shot Western Guilford out the gym and there was no one on their team who could guard him.

  5. I understand about that tough game the night before. But, shut down Hanner and SW is done for and EG does that. Leach needs to get alot of And 1’s. Then again, EG’s coach could do something random and weird and go away from the winning strategy. and yeah Im sorry I thought they were in the same conference. I wonder why they play twice then
