We will have the Smith at Dudley game on AM950 and on www.wpetam950.com with an air time of around of 7:15, so we should get some of the girl’s game in then hit the boy’s action with a tip-off called for around 8pm….Full load of scores for you later tonight here at the site……

Smith at Dudley……Smith boys won the first meeting and they are currently #1 at (4-0) in the Metro 4-A Conference…..
Grimsley at Southeast Guilford…..Grimsley boys have lost six games in a-row after the Whirlies’ (5-0) start to the season….
Page at Western Guilford….Page boys won the Pizza Hut Tourney and now they have to assert themselves in the Metro conference games and the WG have to step up and make sure they don’t fall too far behind in the conference race….Hornets need a win bad, Page needs the “W” to stay in hunt for #1 in Metro….
High Point Central at Southwest Guilford….This is the girls game of the night…..HPC beat SWG at the Christmas Tournament is this one/game is for #1 in the conference….The SWG Cowgirls are home on the range and it can pretty hot on top of the stove/range….Boys game should be a runaway with the Cowboys’ Hanner and Leech, putting their team within reach of first place in the league and they are looking to stay there….
East Forsyth at Northwest Guilford….The NWG girls should be OK for this one since they are rested and they have had some time for some of those nagging injuries to heal up….The NWG could use a return of guard Hunter Clary and Kyle Berger at full strength and then their overall depth will be much stronger…..East can be beast, but NWG is ready and Coach Reavis knows those Forsyth County teams pretty well……
Forsyth Country Day at Greensboro Day School….Tyler Lewis, the FCD Furies point guard, that has signed with N.C. State, will running up and down that Dillard Activities Center court like nobody else can, almost like a Justin Gainey from days gone by and Lewis is even faster and quicker than Gainey and nobody gets the ball to the basket quicker than Commander Lewis…..Ross, Terry, Kleinman and others will have their hands full tonight trying to slow this kid down….He may be the quickest/fastest point guard in the state right now and that includes of our college guards….Can they stop him? No….Can they slow him down, yes…..And that will be the difference and the other Furies will not be able to beat Greensboro Day….Put this on the bulletin board brother…..FORSYTH COUNTRY DAY BEAT GREENSBORO DAY TWICE LAST YEAR/SEASON….. That has never happened before while Freddy Johnson has been coaching the Bengals……Slow down Lewis and the other Furies won’t kill you….FCD vs. Ragsdale MLK Day Monday at the Coliseum….
Ragsdale at Glenn….Tiger teams will be busy over the next few days and this road trip to Kernersville will be one way to get the legs jumping again….The rest of this season is going to be going down so fast, it will be flying and the Flying Tigers better load up on the oxygen and the H20, cause it’s time to go crazy if you want to make the playoffs and make noise later on in the post-season…..
North Forsyth at Northeast Guilford….Don’t have much on this one…NEG Ram boys need every win and they have to take this Conference title to insure that they will be primed come tournament time…..Benjamin, Tijani, Scales, Smith and others have to step up and step out, as Freddy Gage used to say….
Morehead at Northern Guilford….Both Nighthawk teams can use this as a way to get back into the flow as they go for the Conference Crowns….

Southern Guilford at Asheboro….From what I was seeing earlier, the Asheboro girls are pretty tough and Coach Whitaker has been on a brief vacation and SG has to come back out firing and Coach Thompson must have his Storm boys focused for this game, they have to make some kind of statement about their season, and now is the time….(From what we are hearing, Postponed…..Due to no school today in Randolph County.)

High Point Andrews at Randleman….I don’t see anyone stopping the Andrews boys right now…..They will be tough to tame on the 2-A level…..We will see them LIVE and in person on Saturday, at Dudley….(From what we are hearing, HPA-Randleman postponed tonight due to no school today in Randolph County….)

Eastern Guilford at Burlington Williams….The News and Record said this game had been pushed back to January 26….What is up with that????? I do know that EG has Northern at home on Jan. 25……
High Point Christian at Calvary Baptist…No disrespect meant toward Calvary, but HPCA should beat these guys by 30-35 points if they want to….Calvary is a word that I will not tarnish, but HPCA might be ready to drive to the basket hard and nail this one down early…..Weethe and Oates should combine for 40-plus points for HPCA, but if Coach Clifford gets a nice lead, will he rest his top players for Monday’s game with Oak Ridge….After the LONG layoff due to snow and ice, I would say play them all you can, they need the exercise and they are teenage kids….They ought to be able to run all night long……And on into the weekend…..
High Point Wesleyan at Christ School….HPW has a tough trip up to Asheville/Arden to face the Greenies and the Trojans will be lucky to get back to the Triad alive, if Plumlee and the other Greenies are on their game….Christ School can wear you out when they are on the run and they will be at the Greensboro Coliseum to face the Greensboro Day School Bengals on Monday….HPW will be a tuneup for the Greenies and if the truth be known, it is really Greensboro Day, that the Greenies have their sights set on…..Monday is just two and a-half days away……Greenies-Greensboro Day…..

Ragsdale will play at Glenn tonight also

  • Andy said,

Got it….I was in the process of adding those in and I am not one to sit here and dream or look too far ahead, but I am really looking forward to seeing Ragsdale vs. Forsyth Country Day on Monday at the Greensboro Coliseum Special Events Center….I know we saw the same matchup last year, but now Benaiah Wise and his Tiger teammates get another shot to see what they can do with Tyler Lewis, the top point guard in the State on many coaches lists…..

If I’m Ragsdale, or anybody else that faces him this year for that matter, I’m bringing my track shoes with me to the Coliseum on Monday, Tigers…..

i agree that Lewis is fast, but he is maybe the 4th or 5th fastest in the state getting up and down in transition—there are several college guard in the state who are quicker. You really need to see some hoops outside Guilford county.

  • Tyler is for real said,

Any update on GDS/ FCD game tonight on Lawndale?

The Wesleyan/Christ School game was on national tv. Wesleyan lead 17 to 5 in the first quarter and most of the game. Montay fouled out late in the 4th quater and lost Wesleyanh lost by 5. It was a close game. Wesleyan played well against one of the top teams in the state.

  • Andy said,

From what I saw of Lewis on the highlights he was as fast as ever tonight….He gets to the basket quicker than anyone I have seen around here and as far as the whole state goes, I haven’t heard of any faster….It was a four-point game for FCD at GDS with GDS winning….Without Lewis, it is a 20-25 point game……Lewis is the real thing….

I was watching that HP Wesleyan-Christ School game over at Dudley during the Panther pre-game with Smith….I thought I was watching a taped game…..Then the coaches told me it was LIVE….What network was carrying that game, it was real interesting…..

Not sure Andy but it def was not national TV.
